Grumble

So I gained a stupid lb.  It's been on the scale all week.  Then when I first stepped on the scale this morning it said 217lbs, the same weight as last week, stepped on it 3 more times and every time it showed 218lbs, 1lb up, so I had to be honest and put down on here what the scale said.  I have changed my ticker but I'm not going to pay any attention to this otherwise.  I do feel like binging because I feel upset and angry that I have lost this week and then that snowballs into being angry at myself for getting into this state.  BUT, I know that I was going over my preferred number of calories (1200) by a couple of hundred each day and I didn't go to the gym at all or do very much walking, and I'm incredibly stressed because I have a very difficult essay to write and no time left - I'm going to have to just hand it as it is, and apologise to my lecturer and myself for writing something that is a waste of time to read.  Hopefully next week will be better.  I'm going home from uni back to my family on Monday until the 8th January and so I won't have a gym just right there, I need to figure out what exercise I'm going to do in place of it.  Sorry for the boring and depressing post.  You're all fabulous. x

  1. I understand how difficult it is to deal with a gain. The only thing you can do though is to resolve to make more healthful choices this week. Get the eating on plan and get in some activity. Have a great weekend!

  2. The important thing is not to use this gain as an excuse to go way off plan. Take a deep breath, accept the gain and move on from it and try to make better choices this week. ((HUGS))

  3. Understanding why you went over your calories is the important thing to learn here. Do you need another fill? Were you hungry? Were you just stress eating? Could there be another way to resolve the stress?

Hummm... I know the feeling of just wanting to give up and eat when I don't see the scale go down. Especially during exams and papers!

  4. DON'T GIVE UP! We're meant to have set-backs to help us refocus and realign our goals. I know you can do this! Don't beat yourself up - you've had a stressful week. When you're back at home with your fams - enjoy it. Go for walks/jogs/runs - whatever you're comfortable with. chin up babe because I don't think you're a failure. xoxox

  5. I to have reached a low and then backed up on the scale and not claimed my loss, but I once told...(by Ronnie and a few others) that once you see it, claim it. So I say claim it. Losing faith makes you lose focus and losing focus can cause damaging things like binges. Bounce back and get to work. Back to basics is all you need. You can do this. Chin Up!!!
