Struggling

Ok, so I'm having a bit of a tough time with food.  I'm able to eat a lot more than I should be able to and it's so hard to not to revert back to old habits when it feels like nothing's in my way.  I try to remember why I'm doing this before eating, but it doesn't always happen.  I know everyone struggles once in a while.  I'm just afraid that this is all too much a case of willpower, and if so, how is it different from before?  I hope that once I get a couple more fills, things will change.  In the meantime, I've been trying to get my protein and water in and I've been to the gym the last two days.  In fact, on Saturday, I ran for 11 minutes!!!  Remember a couple of weeks ago I ran for 8 minutes which was the longest I'd ever run, well how's that for a 30% increase!!  I was very proud of myself, and it felt good to get moving again.  I'm heading home for the holidays tomorrow and I look forward to being active when I get there.  I'm scared that I'll gain weight again this week, maybe I should use that fear to help motivate me.  I'm just afraid that I won't be able to do this.

  1. so on the same wavelength! but we can do this babe! and congrats on your running time! they do say it takes a few fills to get into that "green" zone - so i wouldn't stress too much. And in all honesty hun - I'm sure you're still eating far less than what you were before! but damn that nasty lack of willpower huh - YOU CAN DO IT! xoxox

  2. Good on you for keeping up with your protein, water and gym - that is fantastic! Food is soooo difficult in the beginning because you can still eat a lot more than you think you should be able to and I know how hard that it because I was in that place until Fill #3 - since then I can eat about a half of a cup of food per meal, no exceptions. It's crazy how restriction can just creep up on you after a teeny tiny fill. When is your next fill? In any case, you are doing great! xxx

  6. Afraid you can't do it? You ARE doing it. You just need a fill. Don't be too hard on yourself.

  10. I'm sorry you're struggling...it seems to be going around blogland. Have you ever heard the saying, "Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD"? Even if you CAN eat more than you should, don't do it. I know a band nurse who says that we'll ALWAYS be able to eat more than we "should" - the trick is to eat less than you can and see how long the meal will keep you not hungry. We don't have to stuff ourselves all the time. (Right now I could totally eat an ice cream sandwich...but I'm not gonna.) Great job on the running!

  11. You're absolutely doing this on your own until you hit a good fill level. But I promise, once you have good restriction, it'll be easier. Hang in there!
